I am looking at purchasing this ISF and was wondering if this fender is normal cause it just looks weird.









It looks like the right side rear fender guard ripped a bit, but is there anything else?

Also, the side skirts look weird, the shape looks deformed, but I'm not sure because I never seen the side skirts of another F in person.

How about this headlight and hood too? The hood seems a mm or 2 more sunken in and it doesn't look flush. Looks kind of off I guess?



Are any of your ISFs like this? Could any of you guys confirm that these are actually normal besides the minor rip in the rear fender guard?

The owner is a doctor that is on usnews and bought the car at around 1.5k miles and told me no accidents. No reason to not believe him.

 

Hood on mine is SLIGHTLY lower than the fenders as well, though that picture makes it look a lot more drastic than it is (on mine at least).

Are you talking about how the fender flares out? Or about how sunken in the wheels look? Because both are normal...

 

I think that's what happens when someone sticks stock wheels on the car.

OP - Easy fix. 19x9s up front and 19x11s in the rear with a fender roll and the right offsets and you'll never look at those things again. Oh, and a carbon fiber hood will fix the, once again installed and subpar, stock hood.

The fenders look just like the ones on my car. And the hood looks to be fitting somewhat better than mine.

From your pics, the car in question is a 2012 (or later) SFP. Great year & color if so.

I think you can adjust the hood height by rotating the small rubber tabs in the engine bay. I need to find a photo..

 

So go check for paint, rub your thumb nail where it meets the skin along any inside edge around the hood and the fenders (back of the hood by the wipers, and the edges back there where the fender meets that same plane. Painted cars feel gritty, no paint feels like ice. Also, look for turned bolts on the hood supports-it will be pretty obvious that a socket has been on them. Just because the history is clean doesn't mean it wasn't wrecked and repairs without using insurance. Finally, look at how all the panels line up, they should be dead even. Lexus and Toyota is far and away the most **** retentive when it comes to gaps. If they're off, something is up

I have seen other ISFs like this, but not too sure about how this looks. Please give some input!

 

It looks a little off. Open the hood and take pictures of the fender bolts and the hood hinges. You'll probably have to remove the engine covers to see the fender bolts.

 

Bump. My F looks very similar to this, large gap on both sides of the hood to fenders. Seems odd for a $68k car. 2014 with 14k miles one owner no reported wrecks. I will post pictures when I can get them, curious on others thoughts of if that picture above looks normal.

 

That gap is pretty large, I would say not normal.

 

About the rear wheel well, for the Canadian cars there is a short piece of film (maybe about eight inches or so) just at the bottom front of the wheel well. Quite often when a quarter panel or wheel well has been painted the protective film is not replaced. If it is the same for US cars that is one way of recognising a non-factory condition or possibly a repair.

 

Fenders look normal.

Not sure about the hood......is the gap the same on the other side of the hood?

 

Here is mine, gap seems large on both sides plus the fender is higher on the passenger side relative to the hood...
