Already started another thread but need advice, just copped a Infinity 1060w Reference Series 10" 4-ohm subwoofer from a parts car on craigslist for $90.00, but Idk if they had to use an aftermarket amp because It seems way bigger then the OEM ML Subwoofer which I belive is 8". I can check it when I tear it apart, but would like to know what to expect before I start pulling peices. Let me know guys
Btw, forgot to mention when you started the thread I kinda knew you made the right decision to purchase your 2GS because I helped my brother in law purchase the exact same car last year ('98 GS300 blk/blk). People thought he was crazy when he told them it had 282,000 miles, but the 2GS is not your ordinary car. So far he's put on about 9,000 miles and he's only replaced a battery.
I think the 2GS is 10. I'm thinking about picking up this one for my '99 ...
I talked to a Audio Audio Mechanic today and he acutally recommneded that with the stock amp to get the Pyle PLPW8D 8-Inch 800 Watt Dual 4 Ohm Subwoofer. Becuase of the 4Ohm output is needed for the stock amp or it my overheat the amp.

Yeah I'm looking for the same...something that will fit and finish of OEM. If memory serves me correctly I *think* my Nakamichi sub is a 10" though...it's been a while since I've taken it out. At any rate, it's either an 8" or 10" and I'll just head down to the audio store and pick out a new one. Same ohm of course
I'll do some more research, for sure as I continue to work on my car, but did I misunderstand something?
you should stick with the 10" sub and install a cheap amp strong enough to push it. I installed an Infiniti sub and kenwood amp. The stock amp won't work with any aftermarket set up.

The nightmare for the GS4 is the starter... that's a full-day job.
