The Godfather of VIP Style Owns This 2008 LS460L
By Brett Foote
When it comes to insane, over the top VIP Lexus rides, this one might just take the cake! Check out this sweet JDM ride right here.
The mods I *generally* stick to are only those things that tend to make the car better at its original intended purpose. If it's sports car, it would be a mod that made it more "sporty." In that case, if it would cause the car to turn quicker lap times, I was into it. If it were stickers, that made it look more "sporty," then I was NOT into it. Must be functionally legit mods. And things like lowering a car, doesn't necessarily make it faster, more sporty. The factory works very hard (I should know, I did vehicle development for Toyota and Hyundai/Kia) to get it right to start with. So actual improvements IMHO are few and far between.
So for an LS, if it would legitimately make the car more ... luxurious, I would be interested. I'm a road race fanatic, so if it made the LS faster around a road course, I would be interested (probably wouldn't do it, but would be interested). But would only consider such a modification if it didn't detract from the luxury. There's not a lot of that out there. So be it, it wasn't made for laps around Road Atlanta. But to get to and from there in luxurious comfort.
I now feel obligated to justify my Exhaust Vents, because of my comments in the first paragraph. This is not a "plug." I feel my Exhaust Vents are a legit modification because in my feeling, they actually increase the luxuriousness of the vehicle. Because the sound adds an air of authority to the car. And gives the car a voice. While on the inside, they are noticeable (which I'm glad about), while not being intrusive. On the outside, they are enough to get noticed. Even my manager (unprompted) told me my LS sounded awesome, and asked if my Exhaust Vents would fit his Sequoia. For some, total silence is luxurious. I respect that. That's just not me.
The only cars I have that are stock quiet are my Camry and Corolla. And that's because they're 4 bangers and would sound like hell if they were louder. I like 4 cylinder engines just fine, but they just don't sound great. Except high revvers like on sport bikes.
