Hi, my SC430 roof operations, open n close, are working fine but am wondering what regular maintenance is needed to ensure continual good performance ?
I bought my Oct 2001 SC430 some 20months ago & I have not applied lubricant or grease to the moving parts since. No record of past owners’ maintenance history.
Also, when opening & closing the roof, I always hold on to the switch until the full cycle is completed. I have seen YouTube videos where owners simply paused & restarted at will. Guess such interrupted operations will not throw the roof cycle out of sync ?
Don't have any words of wisdom about maintenance, but I've found that the top/trunk will not reliably latch during if the button has been released and re-pressed anywhere near the final position.
My son did this a while back:
The latch needs the inertia of the moving top to completely latch.
There has been the odd situation where the operation got interrupted near the end. When in that case, I'll re-open the top to about half way and then continue on with the original process.

Many thanks for your enlightenment.
Did you do an advance search? There was a thread about this topic with photos showing the locations of where you should apply lithium grease. Interrupt of closing/opening roof operation will not throw it out of sync. The design intends so you can clean the back window.

Hi, noted on your experience & the need for inertia to fully close n complete the operation.
Thanks for your input.

Hi,
I did a search but it led me to my own posting. See photo below on search results. Maybe it is not the Advanced Search u mentioned. If so, where do I go to access this ?
