Default Lumbar support problem

I've got a 2004 SC430 and the lumbar support, for the driver's seat, has never worked since I purchased the car a couple of years ago. Since I had some extra time, I thought I would investigate. I pulled the seat side cover off and found that the connector, to the lumbar switch, had been disconnected.

I don't think it just fell off and I would assume that someone disconnected the switch. Maybe it was disconnected because either the switch or motor is defective and when you hit the button, you blow a fuse. Any thoughts?

I am going to pull the seat out so I can get to everything a little easier. I read some posts and it appears that you remove the 2 bolts at the rear of the seat rails, move the seat forward and then remove the 2 front rail bolts. Disconnect the battery and then lean the seat back and disconnect the wiring connections. If I have missed something, please respond.

I see that there are replacement lumbar motors and switches on eBay.

Thanks for any assistance.

I have never heard of one of those motors going bad yet. The only real seat issue I am aware of is the seat heater relay goes out causing the heater light to stay on. Plug it in, test it and go. Good luck.
