I just scored a cheap silver SC with black interior in hopes of fully swapping the interior over to my ecru-lined twilight amethyst pearl. I've tried searching here and FB groups, but am unable to find anyone who has swapped carpets. I can easily pull seats, door cards, and wood trim, but am wondering if anyone has instructions or a guide to removing the center console and carpets. Looking at the center console, I can't tell if the dash needs to be removed (hoping not). Any advice or help would be appreciated.
Once I get my car back from the body shop, I'll document the swap here. I unfortunately had an older lady pull out in front of me which ended with her truck parked on my car.
The video posted above and a pic posted below (out of the FSM for 2002) should give you and idea of what would have to come out. Looks like both sides of the dash under panels, the radio and the climate control panel all have to come out for the bolts/screws up front. The pic addresses the Yaw Rate sensor. Not germane to you, but couldn't find anything on carpet. Hope this helps.
Oh bummer St3rnly. Sorry to see the accident. Is insurance going to cover it?
Yeah I already got a check that will more than cover the repairs. I'm putting the extra towards swapping over to black interior like I've always wanted.

Thanks Lee! That picture will definitely come in handy. I didn't pay close enough attention to the center console when I replaced my navigation screen, but from looking at that picture it doesn't seem like I'll need to mess with the dash.
I'll try to get my hands on the FSM to see if they cover carpet removal.

I can tell you the 2002 FSM does not cover removal of carpet. Having done this job in a LX470, once the front seats and console are out it's a matter of finding which things cover an edge have to come out too (rear seat bottom, etc.).
Hey there!
I've been wanting to swap my ecru carpet for black as well, leaving the seats ecru. The light carpet is a ***** to keep clean. Where were able to find carpet shells fit yours?
Ooh, sorry about the crash. I had a very close call in a similar situation yesterday. Thank goodness the guy in the lane next to me saw what was happening and gave me room to slide over into his lane.
You are swapping to a black interior? I've recently sold a Honda S2000 with a black interior. A convertible with a black interior is a recipe for a blast oven when in the sun. Seriously.
I purposely avoided several nice cars when looking to purchase due to black interiors.
