Default Dented oil pan

Good evening everyone,

Tried to jack up front from centre, the tip of Jack slid and went into oil pan and dented it.

I inspected the dent. There's no leak at all. Not broken. Just a dent. Checked oil level, seems fine. It's not that big but it's not the smallest.

Please see the pictures.

Do you think if I need to fix the dent/replace oil pan or just leave it?

Does anyone knows where exactly the oil pick up is? Is it in the area where I dented it? And if it is, is this a big dent that can affect the oil pick up?

Thank you all in advance

Probably won't cause any problems but do you want to take the chance?

I wouldn’t worry about the pan. I would be worried about what is dripping down the tire. Possibly brake fluid?

Thank you for replies.

I sprayed all suspensions parts and bushings with ATP AT-205. Some of that dripped down on tire and wheel.

So I have to ask, why would you spray transmission fluid/sealant on your suspension pieces?

So I decided to lubricate all suspension bushings for maintenance. Was going to get a silicon spray but then came across this product that many suggested.

Product:
Amazon Amazon

I have my dent on the oil pan as well. I will not be surprised if there's quite a few of the us who have a dent...

Thanks all for your dent testimony! Only the OP admitted to doing this himself, but I imagine it could happen to any of us. I bought a new floor jack from a Pep Boys that was closing in my area. It was a $270 (Amazon's price), Big Red, (Torin) that I got for $130, and I'm pretty happy with it, except for the pad that the car sits on. My old jack was a much better design, which never slipped on me in 35 years I used it. But the new one looks like it could easily allow the vehicle to slip, so I need to be a lot more cautious, especially after reading this thread!
