Default Handling

I've seen the negative remarks in regards to the 430's handling. Has anyone done any mods that they feel are worth mentioning (i.e. chassis bracing, coil over shocks)?.

A few of us have added shocks, spring or coilovers. Not sure any bracing exists yet for our cars unless TOM's has added it to their products.

When I test drove the car, I knew it needed shocks and better sway bars. Put on Tein TypeCS's and got measured for sway bars to be made later by Daizen. The sway bars are still vaporware after 8 months, but the coilovers made a great difference. Also, just lowering the vehicle an inch (via coilovers)gives the SC a better ride.

Two Porsche Carrera owners have driven my car and have been very impressed with the combination of performance and smoothness. One is seriously considering purchasing one for his collection and called me last week to find out about my suspension. But, hello, the SC is not a Porsche even with suspension mods. As one of the Carrera owners said, "Porsche's are go-karts with windows, this is a car!" He was especially impressed at how quiet SC's cabin is with the top up.

That said, if I did it again, I think I'd try out TOM's coilovers because you can adjust the rebound rate which the Teins lack and could use.

NOTE: the guys posting negative handling comments put lots of mods on their cars except anything having to do with suspension. So they are commenting on the stock ride, and I agree with their comments.

Thanks for the info! I have seen the Tom's bracing package on their website but have yet to find anyone who has installed it. The compressor package that they have seems interesting as well. 360 rwhp vs the Blitz package at 320 rwhp.
Again, thanks for the input, I was beginning to think people dont respond to newbies.

Turbo magazine had a great article on the Praxis air suspension system. It automatically lowers the car based on 3 settings and sets spring rates as well. Too bad it is only available for the Subaru WRX.

Default Cheap Fix

Get rid of the run-flats and install a set of Michelin Pilot Sports and the handling will improve exponentially.
Just my opinion.
