replacement 2003 Lexus SC 430 remote control key
Hello everyone,
I lost my master remote key. I still have the transponder key which when I checked it acted like a masterkey because the "security light turned off when the key was inserted in the ignition.
QUESTION: I want to get preferably a replacement remote key , any suggestion where I can get the key ? get it cut? and then I read here if I have the master I can still program this by myself? Please enlighten me . Thanks.

If you are not sure that you will be able to do it yourself, take your car to a local Locksmith. It will cost you $200–$300 but much cheaper if you go to the Lexus dealer.

I heard 1010 keys makes replacement keys for Lexus. Any one who has this experience and was successful? I just need the steps you may have taken to ensure that I make a mistake in getting the wrong key and unable to program?

1010 Key will cut your key even from a photo. I don’t know how they can program it without your SC. Personally, I have not have any experience with 1010 key but many club members have. They can chime in.

Order a new master remote key from the Lexus dealer. I got mine for $214, which included the cutting. Then you will pay a bit extra for them to program it to your SC. The one thing to check with the dealer is if they can program without having another remote key (I sitll had one when I did this). For some reason the Lexus tech couldn't get my new key fully programmed (lock/unlock doors) so they waived the programming charge. I looked up the procedure online and got it done myself. So $214 total for a new master key replacement.
