Default Many electrical issues

I have been reading the forums a long time but now I actually have a reason to sign up and post so I would like to thank everyone in advance for all your help.
If I need to be more specific just let me know what you need and I'll try to include it

Hi everyone I bought a 2002 Lexus SC 430 and water got into the floorboard and got to the seat motors that's as high as it got.

The battery is new but was dead when I got the car

I have disconnected the electrical connections to both seats and checked all fuses.

The car starts and runs great but I'm having other problems that shouldn't have had anything to do with water damage.

The gas tank and trunk won't open
The side mirrors won't work
The door locks don't work either side
The drivers window wont roll up or down but the passenger window works. from what I have read the drivers side is the "Master" Not sure if that's true but I have ordered both since they are fairly inexpensive.
The top will not open and no red light on the button.
The security light blinks but the key fob doesn't do anything.

What works is the nav unit, the heat and air, radio, cruise control, vsc, tilt wheel functions, wipers, and all steering wheel controls.

I'm thinking of changing both door multiplex units first to try and get the door functions working so I can try to program the key fob.

Bases on this what advise can you give me? Any pin out tests would be great also.

Thanks in advance

I don't have the wiring diagrams for it, but the first thing I'd do after you get them is inject 12V from an outside source on the wires to everything that doesn't work. You need to isolate whether the problem is downstream or upstream. If 12V makes the gas tank door open for example, your problem is obviously not the electromechanical control for opening the tank door. That one should be one of the easiest to disassemble and find.

Yeah if I had the pin outs it would make it so much easier. I'm sure the RH door is getting power because the window works so I will try to change that multiplex unit first but I would love to check for 12v on the drivers door before I put in the multiplex on that side. I did notice the buttons were lit and turned off when i selected up or down but that could be the lighting circuit. If anyone has the wiring diagram Please share.

Pic up the wiring diagrams...
https://www.ebay.com/itm/2002-Lexus-...em5413639d01:g

I would also pick up a copy of Techstream...
Look in the owners manual for the fuse panels in the floor board sides...they might have been wet...you have some work ahead of you.

fuse panel locations

I've already checked all the fuses and they all check fine next is to remove the door panels and check for corrosion. I'm going to check for voltage on the switches also.
Yeah it just takes patients but the truck I'm driving was completely under water and I drove it to Tampa from Ky to pick up the water damaged 430. I only gave 3450.00 for it at Copart and even if the top don't work it runs and drives like new with only 99,000 miles on her.

You are a brave man buying a flood car. I have bought a few insurance salvaged cars over the years, but I always avoided the flooded ones. Still, at the price u got it for, you probably could part it out and recoup your money.

Did you happen to pull up the seats and see what is under them?

It sounds like one of the car's ECU's isn't functioning. I think it is the security ECU. It takes care of some of your non working features. I don't think it is under the seat, but it maybe. I think it is in the lower kick panel, so MAYBE the water got a little higher than you think?

I would google "Clublexus SC430 Security ECU computer" and see if you can find the location and what the ecu handles

All of my cars are flood cars lol
Thanks for the advise and I looked at that a few days ago and it seems it mainly handles the engine functions and all of that is working with no issues. I looked under the seats and the motors are shot but I might be able to take them apart and clean them the outside is no indication of the inside and most times they can be cleaned re lubed and put back in. I'm leaning towards the Multiplexers in the doors and I have both on order along with both doors wiring harnesses. That might fix the roof also but I'm gonna tackle one issue at a time and see if I can make headway on the locks and windows then at
least I can drive the car.
I will be pulling the seats and carpet to see if any grounds are corroded and check if any connections are hidden there. I disconnected the seat connector and it is corroded so I know anything lower than the seat motors will need to be disconnected and cleaned of corrosion.
Flood cars aren't that scary and you get them for pennies on the dollar and this one is not only a flood car but a certificate of destruction!!!!

Does that mean it can't be put back on the road, even after an inspection?

I found this on a Florida Website, hopefully it is not the same in Kentucky

Certificate of Destruction Reporting Requirements

Before transferring any vehicle to a certificate of destruction a report at (NMVTIS) is a requirement in Florida State Law. A copy of the certificate of destruction is kept by buyer and seller for 3 years. Once a certificate of destruction has been issued, it can not be undone. Unless done in error by the original transfer. The vehicle can not be insured, registered, or legally operated on the streets or highways. It can only be sold for parts, scrap metal or used to rebuild another vehicle.

In Kentucky we can get what's called a red title but yes you can register it and get insurance and tags. But I'm keeping this car for my own so i don't care about the title.
I bought a 2008 Saturn Sky Redline for $1500.00 and all I did to it was install a battery. It's a certificate of destruction also.
Here is my You Tube video of the first start.

Cute dog you got there.

Nice job! All the computers are on the same network. My guess is when the corroded ECU's were on the network, they were broadcasting garbage signals across the network, confusing the module that controls your windows.

You mentioned that you are planning on replacing the seat bottoms and that they are cheap. Where are you able to pick up cheap seat bottoms or are you referring to the electrical/electronic components? I'll be interested in seeing how much they wind up costing. Good job getting it running.

Regarding the speaker, yes, the original speakers do rot out and you can either replace them or repair them. There are repair kits for about $25 out there that will make a world of difference.

Depending on what the error code is, it is possible that you just have a loose vacuum hose that you'll be able to see if you take the engine cover off. They will likely be on the driver side on the top. OTOH, the O2 sensors are under the car and those could have been damaged by the flood. (A Techstream would help you narrow it down. You can pick one of them up for $25 to $50 or so on ebay.)

Welcome to the forum.

Thanks!!! All my cars are floods and they are much less expensive to fix than wrecked cars. My other Saturn Sky had front end damage and it cost me more for that car to repair than the Lexus and the other Saturn combined.
Yeah I had one connector I couldn't see under the passenger seat that was causing the problems, once I disconnected it everything started working. It takes more time to learn the system than it does to repair it.

Buddy the dog is getting old and want's to spend every second with me, he isn't fond of spending hours in the garage he would much rather be on the couch with me watching tv and really I would to lol
