Hi to everyone I’m Jorge arana written from Spain and this is my first post. First of all congrats for this incredible forum, I was impress by the amount of useful information that I could find on last few weeks.
I’m looking to buy an Sc430, I currently own an bmw 335i convertible, is fun to drive but looking fw to trade it for something more comfortable an with a reliable V8 on it.
The thing is that there is a nice 2008 unit on sale at my hometown, It’s dark blue and ecru interior, looks in mint condition but it has 200.000miles on it, although always maintained at Lexus. He’s asking 9k for it, I’m planning to keep it for long time but I’m afraid of resale value with that amount of miles. Should I go for it or keep waiting? in Europe there aren’t many available and the ones from 2008 starts at 22k, many thanks to all
If the SC430 was well maintained by Lexus, it should be in good shape, however, I'd still recommend that you have a qualified mechanic give it a thorough check out. Be sure to check the Buyer's Guide stickie at the top of the SC430 forum page and use that to inform the mechanic of items to be sure to check. With 200,000 miles on it, there are likely to be a number of items that would need attention unless Lexus has stayed on top of it. Be sure to pay attention to the suspension's condition especially along with determining the last time that the timing belt and water pump were replaced.
Is that 9K EU? With regards to the value in Spain, I really can't provide any good insight and I definitely don't have insight about the resale value there. I will say though, that without doing research and just providing a gut feel for it, I would think that after 200k miles, the car value has already hit the bottom with regards to value related to mileage. But I really don't have data to back that feeling up. If the engine has been maintained properly, it should still have a lot of miles left on it.
Thanks for your replies, it’s 9k eu so 11k US dollars, timing belt haven’t need done, so I thinks unless I got a big discount I’ll keep on waiting, in two weeks I’ll go to check the car out so I’ll let you know, thanks!

Mi experiencia es:
Para ser un V8 gasta poco
Es muy fiable
Las reparaciones son baratas respecto a sus equivalentes en mercedes(vengo de un sl)o a bmw
Mi mujer y mi hija están enamoradas del sc (ventaja muy grande,jeje)
Yo creo,como te han dicho,que poco va a bajar ya,y el precio que te piden es razonable,y este año han bajado bastante
supongo que por lo que todos sabemos.
Por cierto,el mio es igualito al que has puesto,si alguna vez pasas por Burgos o Bilbao te lo (o nos lo )enseñamos
