I just bought a 2008 LS 460L, and I'm also a newbie here 😀 I have had Lexus and Toyota cars previously for the obvious reasons .... reliability, quality, parts etc, and of course all the fun and different gadgets that set Lexus apart from other cars. I have a familiar problem right now of the VSC warning coming on, and staying on. I know that there is ways to turn this off, which I would gladly accept any advice on, but I would like to know if this is all that is required, or should there be any need to repair or replace any parts. Also, the light is not working on one of the pop down mirrors in the back seat area. Was wondering if this is a fuse or bulb issue.

Welcome and good luck with your new car. I hope that you don't come to seriously wish you had joined here and researched first prior to buying your car. While you are indeed correct about the reputation that Toyota/Lexus enjoy, the 2007-2010 LS series has some unique and sadly, sometimes VERY costly issues.

Thanks dedbirddog, but as I said in my introductory post, I have had many Lexus and Toyota cars in the past, hence the reason I had carried out my research prior to buying the car. However, you are not always going to catch everything every time, the most important thing is that you do spot it as quickly as possible and get it rectified right away. And as you correctly pointed out to all of us, it can be very costly.
Tho, no use buying a car if you can't afford to spend the upkeep on it .... it's a bit like booking an exotic holiday and spending the whole time in your room eating sandwiches. No point on going if you can't afford to enjoy yourself 😎
