I have been searching all over the site and have been looking for a 2004 lexus sc430 starter replacement video or instructions. I have used search but havent found the lexus sc430 replacement instructions for the starter.

It’s a big job.... I would start by watching this YOU TUBE video FIRST
It covers a starter replacement on the Lexus LS430....its nearly identical in parts and scope for the SC430 starter job.

The job itself requires the removal of the intake manifold, which means disconnecting a whole lot of parts. It also gives you the opportunity to do some preventative maintenance too. Obviously you MUST order the correct gaskets/parts for the SC430 NOT the LS as in the video. I've also included the PDF on the starter components below.

Many people also replace the knock sensors while they are in there. As Bob said, it is a BIG job to get the manifold off.

Why do you think your starter is bad? One good thing about the SC starter, it is known to be pretty reliable. I have been on the board for about 3 years and have only run across two people that had to replace their starter @Bon and someone else who recently changed their knock sensors due to mice
