12 volts in trunk?
Where can I find 12 volts in the trunk? I mean when the ignition is on. I want to power a backup camera & wifi for WiFi Backup Camera iphone rig from Rand-McNally ($29.95!), and have it always on. When it is only on when getting 12 volts from the backup light, it takes too many phone pokes to get the picture.

The only ignition ON +12v source in the trunk is from pin 18 of the NAV connector. There is a recent post about how to get it without splicing the wire.

I think he's looking for ACC not B+ wire. GmanSC points out the correct source, pin18 for ACC. I have my camera connect to that PIN so I can watch the backup cam all the time when I drive.

digitatc, the only thing nicer would be to get 12V when I open the nav screen door on the dash. Do you know what pin that might be? And of course to draw enough current to run my little Rand-Mcnally WiFi hotspot in the trunk without overheating the nav screen cover-opener circuit. So the backup camera is not always on, and instead the "open" nav screen button on the dash serves to turn on my backup camera setup. Is there a pin for that?

Anybody know where I can get a diagram of the 2008 SC430 Nav unit, please, with the ins and outs of its in-trunk 18-pin connector? And of the corresponding works of its dashboard screen?

Habious (former forum member) did just that. Check at about 2:30 of this video:

You can use the OPEN switch as toggle switch for other things without changing its functioning to open the NAV door.
