Bob

Thanks I was not sure how much of the link I could post without getting myself in hot water with the forum rules.

That is a really nice SC430! I think the silver with black interior is one of the best combos, personally. I have the Ecru interior, and while it still looks showroom fresh (only 22k miles on mine), I do fret about it getting dirty whenever someone rides in it. This 2007 even has the spare tire package, which is kind of nice and unusual. It should hopefully sell pretty quickly at that price point ($22k).

Thanks, I saw it on my local craigslist which I check every day just for stuff and I always check for SC's. That is how I found mine.

This is going to make you cry.

So I drove 138 miles one way to look at this 2007 SC 430 with 59,425 miles on the clock. When the owner opened the garage door my jaw dropped. This black SC was so dirty. He gets in and backs out of the garage and hits the top open button and there was more crap leaves etc in the joints. The trunk was covered in leaves, the drain channels were full of decomposed leaves, water started running in the trunk and it was in a garage. I would guess if you put cat nep on the car and let 6 cats use it for a claw scraping tower you could not have gotten any more scratches in that black paint. The tires were non run flats with a DOT code of 3412 or the 34th week of 2012. It had 2 pencil size eraser rock chips in the hood not the bumper. The floor mats were stained but not bad. I got in the AC blew cold, GPS Door opened and closed fine, radio door fine, antenna up down ok. GPS screen looked like it had never been touched. So he says take it for a drive so I did. Drove down the road 3-4 miles pulled off on a side rode. I went around to the passenger door and looked in and down the carpet near the net pocket was this huge coke stain down the carpet to the floor. I pushed the cup holder and it popped up but the cup holder portion would not pop out because it was covered in dried sticky coke syrup. I don't know how long ago that got spilled but they never cleaned it up just left it. Popped the trunk leaves and crap all over. Now my trunk lid supports are getting weak on my 06 but at least they will stay up for 3 or 4 minutes. These would not even support the weight of the trunk lid for a second. You pushed it up and let it go and the trunk slammed shut. The engine compartment on the other hand was actually very clean. All the books/manuals were there, the original window sticker was there. I called my son in VA and said at this price point I would take a pass. Yes it has low miles but has not been maintained at all. To say that I was very shocked at how a car with this few miles could be let go like that is a mystery to me. Then not to have had the timing belt and water pump changed well it was time to head home. These were just the things I could see spending15-20 minutes with the car. I would be a player at 12K cause it would take another 5-6K to bring this back to the shape it should be in for a 12 year old SC. I don't see this guy getting $17,500

Very Sad

Leaves and water in trunk, and coke stain - hard pass. A sadly neglected car that deserves better.

Sad story, Dennis! But I am seeing more and more nice SC430s pop up at what I think are great prices, and I would hope the negligence shown by this owner is an anomaly. It does seem like most SC owners are pretty fastidious about caring for these cars. I always worry about scratches on the Black cars, though! I know you're not in any particular hurry, so if you keep watching CarGurus you'll find a terrific one pop up in your area eventually. Good luck!

Just as an update it is now down to $15,500. If a guy could buy it for $12,500-$13,000 maybe? New tires $800-$850, New timing belt/water pump $800? A serious Detailing/buffing $1000? So You have $16K in an 07 with 59k on the clock? Repaint the hood only maybe another $500?

Gang

The SC will never look the same after it has been
repainted. Silver is not too hard to match but generally
anytime a car is repainted even if it is blended well
tbe paint will not match

forget this one

Not necessary

I have an 01,02,04 Lexus and all of them
are original and have never been repainted

My point is with certain colors ( Pearl white, Silver)
will rarely match after a repaint even if the fenders
were blended in.
