With the top down is there any way to prevent access to the trunk?

 

Yes. Activate the valet switch* in the glove box, then lock the glovebox. Also remember to lock the center console.

*see graphic below and make a mental note. Members have forgotten they activated the valet switch and panicked when their top stopped working. Only to be embarrassed to discover they were the cause.

Finally, if you’re dropping off the car with a valet, hand them the valet key. It cannot unlock the glove box or center console, thus preventing access to the trunk.
