thinking about purchasing 05 SC and wondering the real life MPG? Thanks in advance.

 

 

Unless you are using your SC for a daily driver, which some people do, it is not that bad for a V8.

 

On interstate runs, it's not unusual for me to get 25+ mpg. I average daily 21-24 on my work runs, which is county roads with several stop signs. Better than I had expected. Like any other car, how heavy your foot is determines the mileage - with a V8, that it even more noticeable.

 

I get loads as mine runs on LPG , 40 mpg traveling to and from work which is all slow stop start and lots of waiting at lights and small islands , 60 mpg when cruising on motorways.

 

 

LPG is £0.53 a litre , petrol is £1.25 a litre .
So i get double the mileage for the money .
40 mpg around town and closer to 60 mpg on motorway .

 

Imperial gallon ~ 1.2 US gallon
So 40mpg Imp ~ 33 mpg US

 

If you fuelled your car with fuel that was half the price, you could in effect say you have doubled your MPG .

 

 

Imagine what your mileage would be if you didn't drive at all!

 

you may not be wrong at the final answer, but you must compare miles(km) with LPG and petrol per gal(liter) for the purpose of fuel efficiency comparison and then multiply with fuel cost factor difference (50%)

 

Consistent 19.5 no matter how I drive.

 

2002, 19.5 local , 28 at 85 mph hwy.

 

2005 SC here with the old 5 speed trans. 16 to 18 city but 26 pure highway on road trips. Even made 27.5 once.
