My countrywide search yielded me this beautiful 2004 in midnight Pine Pearl. Garage kept her entire life, perhaps not even ever driven in the rain! 52K miles. I had her shipped from Baltimore to Northern California, she arrived in the midst of the hellish smoke in San Francisco. I picked her up and drove 5 hours north to Humboldt County drive full of mountain roads and redwood forest views.
Initial impressions: What a smooth and supple ride, yet taut enough to feel sporting. So relaxing to the senses. I’ve never really had a luxury car before and I really like it. I did disconnect the battery for a half hour in order to reset the computer and also experimented with the different drive modes. The transmission is so smooth it’s sometimes difficult to tell if it’s kicked down or not, Or I mash the Accelerator and nothing happens for a moment and then there’s a big raucous whoosh...I was a little bummed about the lack of crispness in the shifting—I definitely want to have that valve in the tranny fluid pan turned in order to increase the pressure—But then I discovered how well the notched shift gate works in terms of manually rowing through the gears. Much greater sense of control and sportiness using it this way.
Can’t wait for the smoke to clear and my first top down drive up the coast! Considering I already love the car and I haven’t really been able to cruise the top down, I have much to look forward to.
I feel like she’s been kept like new in the garage for me over these 14 years, and now I get to have this baby-Bentley type of experience for a very reasonable entry point. So cool. Everybody trips out that this car looks nearly showroom new 😊
I feel smart picking the luxury roadster that’s made by Toyota…Giant repair bills really bum me out; I like European cars but I liked this car the best. That’s not me, it’s my good friend
Congrats and Welcome to the club. You have owned one of the best car built, in my opinion.
Wish you have picked up the 06+, it’s even better with 6-speed trans and refined suspension.

Well done! You have a beautiful car!
I know you will enjoy those those long drives on the PCH.
Doesn't it feel good when you finally find the exact car you've been searching for? It took me 6 months to find the same colour combination, in the condition and miles I was after. Great find, and welcome!

All other things being equal of course a 2006 and above seems like the better car… However, for me having a light colored headliner is really important in a convertible. I have had black headliners before and I always feel like I’m in a cave when the top is up… It seems all of the 2006’s and above have Black headliners, which is now a huge trend in premium cars… I really don’t like it… Anyone else out there feel that way?

I think it depends on the seat/trim colors. I know 05 and 07 PB have black headliner. Red leather would look terrible with a beige headliner. My 03 Egyptian sand pearl with saddle interior has beige headliner, which is a great combination.
Ha it surely looks it here in this smoky light. It’s actually dark green metallic
I was going to say the pics looked more like black than MPP. MPP is a rare color, sort of like my TAP. But both TAP and MPP can look black under certain light conditions and then a number of other different colors under brighter light conditions. Congrats on what looks like a very clean car. Enjoy in good health. Tell us about your adventures and remember to post a pic of your MPP in bright sunlight.
