NOW this is where it goes south: Having erased my TPMS light and full of confidence and on the advice of Gman i decided to look around the systems and decided to erase my VSC light with the Techstream. Previously i had jumped the obd with a wire and i should have done this again BUT NO !! So now i have VSC light AND ABS symbol on my dash. ARGHH!!!
Damn you Gman!!LOL!!

How can i erase DTC codes?

Stupid.
Do you want to clear the DTC codes or do you want to cleat the VSC and ABS lights?

You can clear DTC codes using TechStream. Just click on clear codes. To cear the lights, using paper clip:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc4...ash-board.html

Or you can build the tool plug in the OBD port.

Default Zero point calibration

DTC C1336 (ZPC) is known to set automatically due to battery voltage issues-- are they talking about battery level of the laptop?

If DTC C1336 sets, please perform ZPC to clear the code.

What is this and how is it cleared? I'm taking your advice G and am trying to learn Techstream but i feel like it's a steep learning curve for me (old dog). Thanks again.

To tell the truth, I do not know either as some of us here at the club. It has something to do with wheel alignment. I know the VSC light is triggered when using TechStream on pre-06 SC models, due to the cable.

You can read the discussion below or do advance search to learn more about ZPC and VSC:

Many members of this club are mechanics and very knowledgeable. They can chime in.

I'm totally frustrated. I need to diagnose the battery issues on my GS450h but cannot get the TIS software to connect. I've installed V14, V12.4 and V12.2 of TIS, in turn but none will connect using the Mini VCI cable that I have. I have installed the license key successfully. I think the Mini VCI software is the issue. I'm using the only PC that I have available right now running W10. As I run an IT company I like to think I'm pretty tech capable (although no longer a tech myself) but I'm going round in circles trying to get the VCI driver installed. That said the install states that it fails but the driver looks to be in place in device manager.

Any advice?

neilp, have you read over this thread, especially starting at post #155.

Also, somewhere someone (GmanSC, I think) posted the registry changes required for running it in W10. That's a task that it sounds like you can handle.

I've read the entire thread and tried the install about 10 times. At least. I currently have the VCI saying it is installed but now I need a license key for TIS V14. I'm ready to set fire to this damn car.

I do IT work and am very familiar with Regedit.exe and have tried numerous times to get the system to work with W10 64 bit without success. I have all the drivers loaded and identified in Device Manager and still it won't connect. I am not saying it can't be done. There are people that have said they have bought cables from vendors that provide tech support and tech support has used TeamViewer to edit the registry to get it to work. I don't have a need right now for TechStream so I guess that when I do I will look for a vendor that provides tech support. I had it working on an old W7 32 bit machine and it for some reason stopped working and Microsoft is no longer supporting W7. So, it has to work with W10 or I am not going to fool with it anymore.

Currently, I have v14.2 of TIS running but now cannot connect to the car w VCI again.

So I'm giving up too. I had a BMW 335i and the ECS software took a LOT of config, so I was ready for it being a PITA. But I've tried about 10 installs with different combos of version and keygen tool. I guess I have to get a new battery and hope that's the issue. If not I have matches...

This isn't the most popular answer on the forum because Techstream is the S/W Toyota uses. But the truth is, Techstream is still a licensed product that can only be purchased and used from Techstream. Anything else is stolen via China. And since China hates Japan, they look the other way to the intellectual property issues. So, your best tech support will almost always come from the place you bought it.

But I use an iCarSoft i905 scanner and although it doesn't have all the bells and whistles that Techstream does, it reads our codes just fine. No, it won't program a key, or allow you to customize some of the features built into the SC, but it will diagnose any codes in your ECU's. Mine has proven invaluable and saved me a ton of repair cost.

When I first had problem connecting to VIM using TechStream with 64-bit Window 10, I too thought I could edit the registry easily. I was wrong. May be the instruction on that website is incorrect or missing infos. I ended up called the vendor, via TeamViewer, the tech did the swap files and get the software working in five minutes. I guess he has done this hundred times.

I bought the cable in 2017, and I just now went to Amazon to check on the vendor that sold the cable “Yueku” , to find out he is no longer there. Other vendors still offer the software and assistance remotely. To tell the truth, I don’t know who to trust. You just Need to read the description and all reviews and comments.

So guys, take my advice, buy the old laptop with Window XP, you will not have any problem.

If you still want to run TechStream with Window 10, then buy the TechStream from Amazon and have the dealer help. If you trust them.

Here's a thought: If anyone here has cracked this issue and is willing to remote into my PC and fix the issue I'll pay for their time! I need a W10 install and to read from a 2010 GS450h. TIA!

Regardless of cable ver., your TechStream will not connect to the VIM if you installed with Win10 due to the MVCI driver. Sorry but you need a pro help or just install it to a Win XP. BTW, the newer version of cable firmware and TechStream software just for newer Toyota & Lexus models.
