Unfortunately, the only fix for it is to replace it. That was my first thought and hope was that the drop in temperature created a low pressure situation inside the tires as I have dealt with that in the past, but it wasn't the case this time.
Yes I think you're right on. I had the exact same symptoms two winters ago and changed out all 4 sensors with OEM parts. Been good since.

Who did you have replace your sensors, the dealership or an indie?

Discount Tire did mine at no charge but I had to program them myself because they didn’t have the correct programmer or TechStream.Didn’t someone say Costco might be able to do the programming?

Ah, good to know. I bought my tires from DT. I was thinking that Costco doesn't have the programming capability either. I'll have to check. Otherwise, I think that they charge about $15 per tire.

Costco did mine, for $15 . Had to get reprogramming done at the dealer afterwards though. $130.

Separate issue - my battery tender is taking a long time to help my old battery in the SC get up to full charge. Been about two and a half days. Wonder if the cold finally broke my battery's ability to hold charge.

The temperature was in the low to mid 20s°F yesterday and the antenna went all the way back in again, so hopefully, that problem has been resolved from the lube job.

I picked up the emblem adhesive tape that Bgw recommended and hope to reattach the L this weekend. Walmart had both the tape and (liquid) glue but I opted for the tape. (It's going to be cold this weekend, so I may procrastinate.)

I picked up a passenger side view mirror and plan on replacing my current mirror to try to fix the problem. Hopefully, the weather will be conducive enough for me to do that. I'm also considering following Marty's instructions from 2013 and just disassemble the mirror in place to determine what the problem is, whether it is damaged gears or just lack of lubrication. I don't think that the motors are going bad, so I shouldn't need to repair/replace the motor. (Marty's thread is below for those of you who may have similar issues.)

Definitely wait for warm weather day to use the adhesive.

Thanks for that Coleroad. I just went and read the instructions on the adhesive tape and it said to install the tape when the temperature of the components is 65°F or above. Good call.

Tested the antenna in temperatures that were in the teens and it worked just fine. So all it needed was some lubrication.

Finally had a warm enough day (upper 60s°F), so I took on the hood emblem reattachment. I cleaned off the old glue off of the hood and the emblem. The original attachment method appears to have been liquid glue and was beginning to wish that I'd gone with the liquid rather than the tape when I realized just how much tape trimming was going to be required. but I got it done and we will see just how good a job I did by how long it stays on.

Next on the agenda is to get Techstream up and running on my Vista laptop and build an adapter that will both prevent the VSC light from coming on with Techstream use along with being capable of clearing the light out when necessary. I'll use the Techstream to identify which TPS is going bad.

I also need to disassemble my passenger sideview mirror and either lubricate it or determine if there are any gears in it that are bad. I have a spare sideview mirror that I recently bought to replace it if it comes down to that.

The liquid glue is a bear in its own right. It wants to push out. Trying to wipe up the glue that got where you didn't want it. I've been there done that both ways. I agree with bgw, that the tape is easier.
It looks good.

Thanks and yes, I agree with you. Dealing with liquid glue on a semi-vertical surface is not an easy task unless the glue is more like caulk, which is fairly controllable.

It's like rubber cement, thick and stringy. Except it doesn't cleanup easy like rubber cement.

So I replaced the side view mirror today. I tried to pop off the mirror portion so I could get inside and see if there was any damage but couldn't get it loose. I finally gave up and just replaced it with one I had just bought in case it came to this. While I had the door apart, I also replaced the triangle weatherstripping on the passenger side door since I had bought one years back expecting to replace it back then (& decided not to then).

The new mirror had problems going up also, so I took tex's advice and shot a bunch of silicone lubricant back in there and that seemed to help. (Kind of wish I had done that with my original one now...) We will see if it continues to work. It was interesting though, both mirrors are from 2002 cars and both had trouble going up and a little to the right. I was beginning to wonder if the controller was having issues but after lubing it and it seemed to work, so hopefully, it just needed greasing up.

Unfortunately, when I was replacing the mirror and weatherstripping, I managed to break the tip off of my "multiplex network master switch assembly". (The plastic platform that hold the unlock and window button on the passenger side.) Dooh! So I guess that I'll have to find another one somewhere. Double drat.
