Default 2017 RX 350 wheels on SC430

Came across a steal of a deal on the RX 350 wheels ($100). Specs were pretty much identical to stockers. Instead of refinishing the originals I figured why not?. Well, found out they will hit the front caliper a tad. Tire shop was closing so we threw on a 10mm spacer up front. I know the bads of the spacer etc. This is just a heads up about fitment in case you were wheel
swap shopping, and these aren't perfect.

Those wheels actually look pretty good on the SC. What size wheels are they and what size tires did you mount on them?

Thanks,
18x8, tires came off OE wheels so not sure. The offset was 10mm further away from the car I believe. I can grab #s on offset when I get home.

I'm surprised they are 18 inch rims. My 2015 RX has 19 inch rims. I thought that was standard.

From physics point of view mounting the wheels onto a 10mm spacer instead of directly onto a rotor is just too dangerous. When you have 4000lb of momentum going at 60 miles/hr the majority of the stopping power goes thru these five bolts. You can imagine the torque on these little bolts is simply tremendous. Every millimeter of extra torque at such high speed would make a big difference on the stress of these bolts. Wheels are held onto the rotor not only but the bolts themselves but also by the friction between the two surfaces which are held tightly together by the bolts. If you don't believe how tight the contact is just touch the front wheels next time you exit the car. It should be hot to touch. That's from the instant heat transfer from the braking your two ton SC430.

I like the design however it's too skinny for the diameter on the SC430. It's 19x7 - stock is 18x8

I've been driving on 20mm and 35mm hubcentric spacers on this car for over 25,000+ hard miles. No problem whatsover. It's the carelessness of the installer/owner that makes it dangerous.

They do look like 19's.

The standard wheels for a 2016 - 2017 RX350 are 18' x 8" with a +30 offset. The OEM tires are 235 / 65 x 18's. The optional wheels are 20" x 8" with 235 / 55 x 20' tires. No factory 19" wheel option offered that I'm aware of.

I stand corrected! Are the optional 20" wheels Lexus?

Exactly! These are the 18x8 et30, which I thought would have cleared the caliper no problem. Well i wish they would have. The 10mm spacer takes me away from the hubcentric a bit too far. I don't think they make a spacer thats hubcentric that will work at that thickness. Later this evening I am taking the fronts off to see if I can massage the caliper a tad. Its problematic.

Yes. Think the 20" wheels are standard on the F Sport and a $1,170 option on non-F Sport RX350's.

Interesting, I just looked at my 2015 RX and it is an OEM wheel and it is definitely a 19 inch rim. My rims are different than other rims I have seen on an RX. I will have to check to see if it was an option. I did not buy the car new so I assumed all of them are 19. Guess not!
