My center console lights, as well as gear shift panel lights most of the times won't come up. But sometimes, when I switch my headlight on/off and play with a **** on the left of the steering wheel the lights would randomly come back up, however there's no apparent correlation as sometimes I can keep turning those switches on/off all night long and nothing will happen, and sometimes the lights will come back up right away. Additionally, they would sometimes come back when I'm driving. I noticed that once the lights are up they will not go down. I have no idea where to start. Any suggestions? Did anyone have a similar issue?

I think it is the reostat for the dash light brightness...
