Default Techstream help

I purchased this techstream diag cable .http://www.ebay.com/itm/221720133329?ul_noapp=true I know it is twice as much as some posted..but they offered software that would work on a 64 computer. Installed it...and had a bit of a problem getting it to load...but with their help...got it done and I am pleased with the purchase.

Now my problem. When I go to connect...here is the sequence. I hook the cable to the car and the usb on my laptop. I turn ignition switch to on. I go to tech stream on my laptop. It opens to main menu. I select connect to vehicle. It goes thru the connection process....then brings up a drop down menu....I select Lexus...select sc430...select 2006...and select continue. It does some connecting and brings me to the systems selection menu. When I select ANY system to check...I get a pop-up that says " System Select Wizard ( S303-05) selected system is not responding or not available. Please check the repair manual for applicable systems"

Any ideas...my initial thought is it is not connecting to my car for some reason...hence have to add make model and year.

I am going to contact the vendor as they have been very helpful...but as you can guess they are in China...so somewhat of a lag in communication.

Thanks for any advice!!

Do you have another code reader that you can use to see if your car's computer is responding?

I got the same problem. Techstream did not install with Win10, but it did with Win XP. Now it would not talk to my. SC, but it talked to my Corolla. I guess it have to do with the software. I'm stuck.

can you see what cable version you are using?

when Tech stream comes up, it will read the info on your car. Year and model, if it is communicating with your car.

On the home screen of techstream it says ver 12.00.125. So maybe too new a version? The ad on ebay says 2006 and newer. Still waiting to hear back from the vendor.

That is the software version not the cable version. It makes a difference.

confirm the cable firmware version...
should be v1.4.1 or v2.0.4 I believe

the extra software should have come with the disk and should be a different icon besides techstream I think it is called XHorse or something like that.

Your vendor shows a pic of the cable firmware version, second pic on his eBay ad.
you need to very thy sold you this cable.

I talked to vendor tonight...I guess there is a problem with the cable. He walked me thru updating firmware and it still didn't work.
