Default sc430 ecu

I have a sc430 2002 and about a month ago the fuse for the dash had to be replaced. After that time the only way I can get the dash lights and the gauges to work is to unhook the negative battery cable for about 10 seconds. Once the cable is replaced the gauges and lights will work again until the car is shut off for approximately a hour then I have to go thru the who process of unhooking the battery cable again. As long as the car is running it works fine it is only if it is shut off for a period of time. The battery is fine and all fuses check good. Any ideas

I took a look at ebay and it turns out that you can buy a used cluster for $49. I would consider doing that, so you can see if it is a problem with the cluster (which is my guess) or a problem with the wiring/computer. You could probably consult a cluster specialist, but I think it would cost you more than $50.

I agree, that sounds like a good approach DashingDar. Something probably died or shorted out causing the fuse to blow.
