If I read it right, you can update your map to 2015 on SC 2055-2010, right?

You can get 2015. I ordered one that was advertised as a 2016 update but it actually was a 2015 disc. I have seen people on eBay claiming to have a 2016 disc, but I thought I had read on here that the updates usually come out in September. So I'm not sure if it is legit or not. The one I ordered on Amazon is working fine though, and it is 2015 for my 05 SC.

...is it an OEM copy? If not, this could be your issue. The burnt copies usually won't play in our systems. I upgraded a few year back & bought I burnt copy that was packaged as a factory disk. It actually played a day or so, then half the screen wouldn't show up,before the week was over it didn't play at all...lol...so I bought a OEM disc & no issues afterwards.

Default Help With 04 SC Nav Upgrade

Happy Holiday to Everyone.... I have read thru about 8 different threads and can't seem to find the information that I want to upgrade my Navigation system
in my 04 SC430. I know about changing out the actual DVD player, climbing in the trunk and all of that, but since I am slightly handicapped at the moment
that is not an option that I am considering. If anyone can help me do what I am looking to do at this moment I sure would appreciate it.

So, the DVD in my Navigation system is Ver 03.1 I know, its very old. Can someone please tell me what Newer Versions that I perhaps can purchase from
another Club Lexus Member or even on E-Bay would definitely work in my Gen 2 or 3 system, but doesn't have to necessarily be the very latest and greatest.

My Nav system appears to work just fine, but for some reason the street that I live on, in a house built in 1998 doesn't even appear on my version, so that is
the reason I am looking to do this. I can live with something from 2010-2012 if it works but simply taking out my DVD and putting the new one in. OK, help
please....

Mazor1 - the last available update for your car was 2013
https://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Gener.../dp/B00F2MOHLY

any 12 year old kid should be able to change the disk out for you

Thanks for the reply NOMODS4Me, however if you don't mind please allow me to try asking you and the others my question again. I already KNOW that the latest version for my 04 is ver 12.1, made in 2013, but that cost something like $150 or more. I really don't want to spend that much money and I see plenty of OEM (or at least the Sellers claim they are) for sale on E-bay that are ver 8.1, 9.1, 10.1 for much less money. Some of these also say they are Generation 4 so I am wondering if I need to look harder and find a similar version disk that says it was made for my Generation 3 player. Am I correct about this, or would a Gen 4 DVD, lets say ver 9.1 also work just fine in my existing player?

Again, thanks for all helpful responses.

Folks, reminder as in our terms of service that we do not allow discussion of pirated navigation software on Club Lexus. It puts our forum at legal risk (Lexus corp legal has contacted us about that topic) so please don't post about it here.

I upgraded my NAV unit from Gen 3 to Gen 4. Bought a Gen 4 player in great shape on ebay for $175 out of a junked 05 LS430. Also purchased the latest Gen 4 compatible DVD cheap on ebay. Install was 100% plug and play although it requires pulling out some of the interior trim panels to get to the trunk mounted NAV player but all in all it was a relatively inexpensive mode that is fairly easy to do. Its nice having slightly faster interface and one DVD that covers entire U.S but I still rely on Google maps or Waze for critical point to point info and routing.

Default Old GPS maps to new maps

I have a 2009 RX350 with the original maps. Park Place Lexus told me that updating very old maps with the newest maps doesn't always work so well and that if I did the install and it messed things up, it would cost me a lot more to go in and fix it than the $245 they were charging to do the update. Did you do your own install? From Youtube, I've just watched the person remove the old cd and put the new one in and the install took care of itself. And a couple of years ago, they quoted me $69 for the cd only, but now it's $169 - 205.
