help!!wheel bolt pattern is so stressful.
Hi. I'm hoping all you have good closure to 2016.
I bought sc430 a month ago, but im suffering from bolt pattern since my wheels are vent. After my wheels are vent, I decided to replace all tire and wheels. When I bought car came with aftermarket wheels which are 19 inch and 20 offset. Today I bought new wheels has 5×114.3 bolt pattern and put those In but I realized bolt 114.3 looks not fit. (114.3 is official b.p) it fit but but very tight.
So I check previous wheel spec on the insdie of wheel, surprisingly it said volt pattern is 120!even stock b.p is 114.3. How 120 fit to 114.3? Its not possible in my understanding without drilled but There is no installed any kinda support to fit 120 such as spacer, or adopter on my car. It looks like just stock!but can put 120 bolt pattern wheel! I'm so confusing now. Lets make all above to be simple. When i put 120 old wheels, it lossen a little and Ive ignored loosen and hold up with lug nut. When I put 114.3 new wheels it could be fit but very tight (is it normal)and no space to tighten lug nut at all. (Maybe need a new lug nut depends on new wheel?)
Sorry for poor explain. I would appreciate if anyone help me out!

The bolt pattern is 5x114.3
Sounds like your talking about trying a different wheel and your lugs arent able to grab enough thread on the bolts....
What kind of lug seating do these wheels have?
For example i have 20" donz wheels which have conical seating and i could also not get enough thread so i got the 12x1.5 conical extended thread lug nuts which go deep in the wheel to grab enough bolt thread for a tight hold.

Just wondering how 5× 120 Bolt Pattern fit 5×114.3 B.P? I bought it as it is so I don't even know my wheel pattern was 120. Stock pattern was 114.3. I simply thought before 120 would fit 114.3 (realize yesterday it's not possible ).when I put 120 pattern wheel that I owned to sc430, It would fit but loosen which mean hub bolt is not exactly holding in wheel hole before hold and tight in using lug nut.
But when I put 114.114.3 pattern wheel to sc430, it would fit tight and no loosen without using lug nut.
Can I guess last owner did wheel hub conversion?
I can't replace wheel now due to don't know my actual bolt pattern.

I'd take it to a place like Discount Tire or some other place that focuses on selling tires and wheels and get their recommendation.

...take it to a tire shop & they can tell you the bolt pattern. The car came with a 5x114.3 bolt pattern (from factory), just as Bimmer416 stated. If the tire shop tells you it has a different pattern, then the hubs could have been changed by previous owner. Also, if the wheels you replaced had 5x120 stamped on them, they possibly could have been redrilled to 5x114.3 & still have the original stamp. As for your lug issue, that's something that the tire shop can help with also. All lugs don't fit all wheels,so you'll have to have the proper ones for the wheels you decide to use

Thanks bummer. I will try with different lug nut.

lol thanks BGW ^
Hmm I don't think a 120 bolt pattern would fit on a 5x114.3 (like the bolts wouldn't even get in).. I know 5x112 can and be held by "Wobble Lug nuts" as its just 2 mm off... but 5x120.. im pretty sure it wouldn't..
Are you sure your wheel is a 5x120? can you read back of the spokes, it should mention? im just wondering why anyone would convert a whole hub anyway when there are adapters available.
and what do you mean by "hub bolt not exactly holding in wheel hole before hold and tight with lug" ? are you talking about the hub bore?
not to make you sound like you don't know what your talking about but I wana make sure were on same page here..
there is 3 things to look for
Bolt pattern
Hub bore (usually need hub centric rings with aftermarket wheel to make sure they match hub bore) in our case its 60.1mm
lug nut style (acorn, Flat, etc..)
the rest is for looks which would be offset, width, diameter.. etc
Thanks bummer. I will try with different lug nut.
