Default LED Conversion - Security/Mirror control Panel

I replaced the security LED with a blue LED and the mirror control keypad with white LEDs.

I will be posting a how-to later tonight as well as some more pics after it is dark outside.

The security LED was pretty straightforward, but the mirror control keypad is a bit more tricky.

Sounds good. I'm guessing that the hanging connector is for the trunk and fuel door release buttons, right?

Yes. I hadn't re-installed it yet.

After doing a search, I am probably going to skip a how-to for this mod since it has been covered before.

The only thing I did different from that write up was to replace the security LED which just meant removing the red LED and replacing it with blue, and I used a normal LED and a resistor instead of a T4 neo-wedge LED.

Why don't you put the link to that write up on this thread so when folks do a search in the future, they can access the earlier write-up easier.

Because I was lazy.

Here it is: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc4...ml#post8880838

Just put your hand under the dash and push it out. The harness is very tight so it is a bit of pain to disconnect and connect them.

If you purchase the neo-wedge LED, you just twist and pop out the old bulb and insert the neo-wedge LED.

To change out the security LED, you just need to pop up the circuit board. You can see the tabs around the edges. Then clip the leads of the old LED and heat them up and pull out. Uses a 5MM normal LED. Insert it into the board up to the knees.

Yeah, it is really bright. I can see it flashing inside the car from my security camera now. I couldn't before with the red. It should act as a great theft deterrent.

Snapped this from my security camera. Wow, that security LED is really bright now.
