Default you are correct

you are absolutely correct , and I wasn't suggesting making multiple copies for sale or other. Just one archival copy stored in your place of choosing.

To bad that auto DVDs are usually high density double sided and unless you have a real expensive professional grade burner you won't be able to do it. If you do, you can store the backup in my car. Any word as to when Lexus will be issuing the next upgrade?

Default I did first upgrade

I did the 2000 to 2001 upgrade and found some improvements but of course its tough to know which roads are "now included". This latest upgrade - if it changes/adds the functionality discussed - is a whole different ballgame and well worth the money ($385 at my dealer). But I still need to confirm that it will actually do that....

Default upgrade price???

How can the latest upgrade be $500 in Boston and $350 in NYC? I should be able to order it in NYC and have my dealer install it. I was quoted about 1/2 hour to install.

Can anyone confirm that price and which dealer?

Default I will confirm

My delear - in Bound Brook NJ - is Difeo Lexus. I will confirm that the $385 included installation. I remember when I did the first upgrade and the price was $500 - and I freaked. They told me that Lexus had "heard the outcry" and lowered the prices. Maybe...maybe not.

I will post again next week after confirmation.

Default New functions

Thanks- I followed the link provided above and the description of the upgrade describes new software. For $250 I think the new functionality (and the new expanded areas) are worth it!

Cheaper than upgrading the car!

What is involved in replacing the navigation software? Is this something that can be done easily at home ?
The new software that has been described seems to be worthwhile but if I have to have the dealer install it rather than purchase it from an internet source it might be more expensive.

Default Latest Version

According to the earlier posts it seems like 2002 Version 1 is the latest version. My software version is 2000 Version 1, does this mean that I am 2 revisions behind? Also does anyone know where I can ge a description of the updates?

I wonder if this upgrade will work if you have the factory 2002 stock ver 1.0?

Anyone want to try to organize a group buy for a discount?

Default I think you have the latest

I don't think you can upgrade - you have the latest version. Did anyone find out what the "installation" involves? I'm OK if its inserting a DVD - thats about as far as my technical knowledge goes!

My dealer is upgrading me on Tues 4/22 so if there is a group deal - hope it happens soon!
