Check engine light: GUESS WHAT'S WRONG EDITION!
Scenario:
I drive my SC as a daily (146k miles as of today), and it never has had the Check Engine light on.
Dad borrows it for less than an hour. Check Engine light goes on.
I retrieve my car and it stays on for the rest of the day. By the next day, no more Check Engine light.
WHAT DID MY FATHER DO?!?
[I'm reallly more interested in everyone's responses...]

Filled up your tank and left the gas cap cracked or off.

Nope. Gas wasn't filled. It was a quarter tank when I gave it to him, and just a little less when I retrieved it later.

I recently had this code come up but I cleared it last month and it has not came back. knock on wood...
So maybe no big deal but do get a code look up at the autozone if you don't have one of these code readers. GL

She loves her Master.
I don't know the code.
Just the Check Engine light, which is now "off".

When you first wrote this thread, I thought you knew why the CEL showed up and you were testing us.
Now I think you want some help...is that correct?
If so, do one of two things, take it to an auto parts store to see if any codes were stored in the memory or do nothing and wait for the code to show up again...or maybe it will not.

It did it again!
Uncle borrowed the SC for less than 50 miles.
CEL lit up. Didn't fill up on fuel.
I drove it the next day, and the CEL turned off.
The CEL never turns on for me.
Weird...

I used to own a 1998 SC400 that would throw a cat code when it was driven very slowly (like in town driving) before it was warmed up. In other words, if I hopped in it, sped off and hopped on the freeway it would never throw the code. Maybe your uncle is driving very carefully and your car doesn't like it... Just a thought
