I have a 98 gs 300.

The check engine light came on today when I somehow got stuck between neutral and drive and accelerated.

I quickly went into drive and the light came on.

Any idea what this might mean?

I would expect for this check engine light to go away after a short time. Sounds like the ECU thought that something happened to the engine like a drive shaft de-couple.
