Default Replacement for sc?

Brainstorming whether or not to get another sc. Big accident the other night in the rain.

The question is it possible to find a car that could replace my heavily modified car? If I bought another sc I'd have to start all over with the exhaust, suspension, wheels, tires, cams, etc. Does anyone have any suggestions about modded sc430s? It's been my dream to have one with a turbo or supercharger.

If not, what cars would you suggest that might possibly be able to replace? Is there another make or model with similar characteristics?

I'm also considering a paradigm shift of sorts and going for a ls430. Love the smooth ride and all I would need to do are performance mods.

Comments/suggestions/criticisms welcomed!

First off , GLAD you are ok, of course you were you were driving a lexus. im a huge lexus fan, i have never been a fan of the sc430. i have owned ls430, multiple gs models, gx470, and sc300.

I would recommend a 98-05 gs car.

I love the 04 and up ls430 with sport wheels those are sick

but to stay sporty and luxurious i would get the gs series i think its the perfect blend.

Stay away from a 06 gs300. A gs350, 430, or 460 you will be fine

The build quality of the 98-05 gs car is far superior to the new models

Hey Buddy, Thanks for the suggestions. Since you are a fan of a GS, would you mind educating me on the preferred options and engine choices for the GS?

Why don't you like the SC430? Too heavy?

I almost purchased a 370z before I saw the SC430.

I used to own a 2006 350z. Got rid of it for the sc430. Didnt like crappy ride quality and interior.

I have seen the Audi S5 and RS7 at the track and they permorm great with no mods. Indon't know about their mantenance and reliabilty but seem to be a great car and folks like the all wheel drive. On the other end of the scale a bit ago I had a Suburu WRX as a loaner - wow so fun to drive!

I've driven pretty much all generations of air cooled Porsches when I was racing and instructing from 1990 till 2004. I can tell you those Boxsters and Caymans are great little cars, reliable and durable. If your budget permits, a newest 911s you can afford would be great too. Since you don't mind getting yout hands dirty then you can do lots of maintenance yourself as well.
A friend of mine has a G37S convertible and he's think about putting a turbo in it to boost it up to 450-500 horse, I think it's doable as long as you take care of the engine not over stress it or race it hard, it should still be pretty reliable too.
Personally, I would looking into a Corvette C6 Z06, but that's just me.

First off, I'm very sorry for your situation and glad you're OK.
My input would be this; I bought an LS430 (2002) in 2006 (approx. 33000 mi). Still have and no intensions of ever selling. It has been bullet proof.
Little maintenance-big and roomy-can accommodate 4 sets of golf clubs (rare)!--When I have to drive 310 miles to see my grandkids it's like sitting on the living room sofa (smooth and quiet and when we arrive I'm not sore and tired. Wonderful car-now has approx. 114000 mi. and still going strong.
Bought my SC430 3 months ago. Comparing the 2 is Apples to Oranges.
I've always appreciated my LS but never really LOVED it. I LOVE the SC because it's totally different-sleek, sporty, fun to drive, etc.
Since you have said you put a lot of effort into the "mods" on your SC, it must mean that you enjoyed doing that and must have liked the results.
So it's sorta hard to see why you would entertain the idea of an LS instead, but of course, that's your business. Just know that the 2 cars are totally different in several ways.
Good luck to you with whatever you decide to do.
Mike

Too bad you can't wait a year and a half for the LC500.

Or wait for the LF-C2 an heir to the 2004 LF-C Concept Car shown on the 2004 New York Auto Show. On the LA Auto show last year, the teaser image was a silhouette of a convertible perhaps based on the RC Coupe. Enough reason to start saving the $$!

Instead of trying to find a replacement for the sc was thinking of going different direction. My first car after grad school was an ls400 and I loved it. Just throwing around ideas at the moment..

Although to be fair the windows dip down a half inch because the seals are made tighter and more sound proof than that guys toyota. He's a little ridiculous but mostly on point.
Wow. Just wow. MB is out of the picture.
