OBP, as I put in less than 2K miles per year, hence I do not experience the overheating etc.. And I am really not riding on my brakes. Cruising is all I do. No vibration when applying the brakes.

However I know that when I need stopping power, it is there with the ceramic pads. Less dust compared to the rears which I still have OEM Toyota pads.

 

One thing is my rotors on the front of the SC are slotted so with OEM ( I am assuming semi metallic ) pads, that would probably generate more dust than if I used non-slotted OEM rotors. The other thing is I did notice a reduction in brake dust when I moved from OEM semi metallic pads to ceramics on a number of cars in the past. I assumed it would be the same for Lexus/Toyota but you may have point - even when I was running OEM pads on OEM rotors, the SC was not one of the cars that gave me major brake dust issues ...

Though I think Mandy's case is quite telling - less or minimal brake dust on front with ceramics and more dust on rear with OEM pads.

 

Instead of Asian brake rotors, I bought the new Brembo rotors with anti-frust coating. The price was reasonable and the quality supreme.

 

So you bought non-Asian made brake rotors for your Asian car? Brilliant!

I was not trying to sound like some overly patriotic grampa. For the last 15 years or so, most brake rotors sold in the USA have been coming from low cost-low quality Chinese factories. Of course the original Lexus parts might be made in Asia, but more than likely made in Japan where the quality is higher. Brembo has a large number of American manufacturing plants and makes a high quality product.
