So I know there are tons of threads out there about upgrading the pre06 with th 06+ tail lights. From my understanding those that choose not to purchase the ECU will get a dash error light. Some of those that do not purchase the ECU have gone one step further and covered the dash error light with black tape so it's not an annoyance. I was wondering if anyone would supply a DIY to accomplish this task. I would really appreciate it. Thanks

I did the black tape on the cluster and it was not a hard thing to do. I should have done a DIY when I did it eons ago. It is really a simple process. I can post how to remove the cluster. Then it is a matter of identifying the bulb and putting tape on it. I bet you my bulb is kaput now, it has been on for years.

the LED tails make a whole lot of difference in the looks of the rear. Brings it up to today's standard of LED tails.

Go for it. No regrets.

Thanks for the advice. I'm just worried about tearing up the cluster. Can you maybe outline a DIY if you don't have any photos around? I would really appreciate it. I don't want to get in over my head.

Thank you so much! But it seems the lights I was planning to buy are going to be sold to someone else. Whomp. Whomp.

Just a word of advice when covering up the warning light on the dash...

DO NOT REMOVE THE NEEDLES unless you absolutely cannot get to the icon. Calibrating the needles on the '02-'05 SC430 is VERY difficult
