2002 SC430 interior rear view mirror not working
In my 2002 SC430: The interior rear view mirror has an indicator which does not light up when I press the auto button. It does not auto dim at night either. My headlights auto on/off so that daylight sensor works. Ive checked the mirror fuse but not sure if there's anything else causing this. Do these mirrors go bad, or has mine been broken ? What items do I check and or test to diagnose and repair the mirror?
Mine went bad a couple years back; the little green light in the mirror would go from on to off when the button was pushed but the exterior mirrors and interior wouldn't dim. I ended up trouble shooting by taking the mirror off and opening the case up, I figured it was already shot so nothing gained if I broke it worse.
Fairly easy to open and whatnot. I compared the mirror to the one in my 06 LS and with the plastic cases open noticed the internal components were completely identical so I swapped them.
Still not sure what happened but I was able to order one used on eBay for a fraction of the cost that the dealer wanted.
Hope that helps

Thanks for the info. My mirror LED does not light up and nothing happens when I press the button. Fuse is good. How do I get into the mirror to check if it's receiving power?
Thanks! Marty

Read every post I can find on this forum about auto-dimming mirrors system. But nobody mentions the fuse for it other than "I checked the fuse". Please help if you know which fuse that is and where it can be found. Thank you in advance.
