Sprint Booster vs. Electronic Throttle Control vs Chip
I'm just doing a little research on these and just wanted to get the reviews of the seasoned vets on them. Whats the difference between Sprint Boosters, Electronic Throttle Control, and Chips? I understand all change engine paramenters, and therefore affect the horsepower, performance, and MPG. What are the pros and cons of each? Are there certain companies that you'd recommend? Thanks for any insight.
So whats the fundamental difference btn throttle control and sprint booster?
I think they are one and the same concept. But I just got into this so I may be not in the know.
If they were cheap enough I would get them. I just flip my ECT switch to on and do a C shift to get the ummmph and the Injen sound adds to the full experience, LOL!

I think they're basically the same thing. They both modify/manipulate/mulitply the signal from the accelerator pedal sensor to ECU. I know the apexi and blitz are just rebadged. BTW, mine blew out my accelerator pedal sensor and caused some wierd driveline issues.
Unless you're in a real hurry ALL of the time, it's really not worth it. Keep it in PWR mode and gate shift while watching your RPMs.
I bought the Pedal Commander which claim to be German made. Every time I plugged in, after about 150 miles of operation, the CE light comes on. I had tried it 4 times and had the same results. I reset the CE light every time!!!!
Now, I just use the power mode and left the throttle controller in the garage hidden from my wife!!!
Guys are right, they are not worth the money or trouble at all.
Here's a new one (to me anyway) that I haven't seen before. GF Performance. http://www.gfchips.com/lexussc430.aspx
They are cheap but I don't know if they are effective or not.

I just got my sc430, I also have a bmw 335i which has a sprint booster installed in it, big difference even for a bmw, but the Lexus feels so heavy and laggy when you give it gas, a spring booster came to my mind right away when a drove it for the first time.
