Balancing SC rims
I just had my 14K mile SC rims balanced /rotated at at local tire shop- $70. for life-time roate/balance- and in order to balance the rim, they had to take off the pie-plate so they could mount it on the balancer. . .
The tech thought it was the most unusual design (actually he thought it was 'the dumbest thing i've seen. . .- not that i care about that . .) anyway, my issue/question is:
>is this the way lexus dealers do it ?
>i've had mobile service at 5K (longo lexus) and they only rotated the tires, not balanced them. . . . how often do most people balance these oem RFT tires?
>any alignment issues? mine tracks straight and tire wear is EVEN so far at 14k miles. . .
comments?
happy holidays. . . .

Yes, that the way Lexus dealer do it. You have to take all those little bolts out ( 10 of them/wheel) and put on the balancer. I would recommend alignment when you're ready for a new set of tire.
