sweet sc430 pic
You all are driving me crazy with these photos. I had absolutely positively decided that the SC430 I am buying next week will be Indigo with saddle. Then you post the black and I stated thinking that maybe black with saddle. However, the indigo but the black…………
DAVITTTTTTT:
I have a black/ecru and it is a pretty high profile car and draws attention whereever it goes. I would have taken indigo/ecru, but the black came in first (April 2001). I have no regrets, as this car looks best, I think, in the dark colors, and black will have to do until something darker comes along.
AS for the photo: I do like the wheels you added. I will change to the Lexus new wheel trim replacements when they become available in a few months, as I am just tired of spending money on toys.
Love the car, but why did you take it down to the loading docks for the big portrait? Isn't there a park somewhere around? Or was it for the contrast, and I just missed it?
Let us know where you got the wheels.
Merry C.

The black with ecru was the first SC430 that I saw up close and had a chance to drive. It is an eye-catching combination but I really like the saddle interior. Is was an easy to decide to buy the car but what color commination has become the hard choice .
Davidtttt,
Why not consider Midnight Jade with saddle interior as well. This dark green colour is more interesting than the black, since the green shows at some angles/lighting conditions, and looks black at another. I chose my Midnight Cherry/Ecru for the same reason.
P.S. Midnight Jade in Canada = Midnight Pine Pearl in USA

That's a lot of money and a lot of modifications just for new wheels. They sure look great, though.
Thanks for the info -- this reinforces my decision to just upgrade the standard pie plates to the New and Improved Lexus Modified Pie Plates, coming soon to a dealer near you.

I look at a 02 Jade at the Annapolis MD dealership. Like the car (not the dealership) and considered it but I keep coming back to the black or indigo. I do think the car looks best in dark colors but I am positive that the are many fans of the light colors. The one color that I could not find in the Delaware/Maryland/DC is amethyst.

As for colors, there is no accounting for taste, but if you like the black and indigo, as I do, I would think that you would also like the dark green. From about 10 feet away, they are almost indistinguishible from each other. When I first saw the green, I thought it was black until I was about two feet away, and this was outdoors in the afternoon. I would have taken any of the three, but the black came in first.
I agree that there are fans of the light colors. We call them girls.
As for the wheels, I think that a straight replacement of the wheels usually does not void a warranty. If you continue to use run-flats, you get involved in moving the tire pressure sensors to the new wheels. If you do not do this, or use non-run-flats, (sometimes just called "tires") I hear that it's hard to make the alert light on the dash go out. Check elsewhere on the board for info on this nightmare. Or ask the service guys at the dealership, as they will know.
And that was just a joke about the girls.

Don’t get me wrong. I like the Jade but it would be my third choice.
As for wheels, I will see if my dealer as any other options. It is a personal taste thing but like the dark car with high polished wheels.
