Default Tools needed to change battery?

Normally I wouldn't ask, but I haven't change the battery on an SC before and I'm flying down to pick one up and will be swapping batteries first thing so I need to bring with me what I need.

I assume a 10mm box wrench and a 1/4 inch drive with a 10mm socket should do? Do I need a deep socket? And extension?

I have 10mm nuts securing bar that holds down the plastic battery box.

The strange thing is I have different sized nuts on the terminals. 12mm on one side and 13mm on the other (iirc... might be 10mm & 11mm, or 11mm & 12mm or, 12mm & 13mm).

So, take all 4 to cover 10-13mm and you should be fine. I prefer spanners to sockets for the terminals but that's just me.

sometimes you need a deep socket depending on the terminal bolt sizes.

you could also just use an adjustable wrench for all the bolts.

Why not jump the car to start it and take it to a auto parts store and they will change it out for you? I am not sure but is there a core charge on batteries these days? Plus you would not have to mess with returning the old battery

10 mm for both.

Also a piece of tape to keep that gdmned long, retainer hook from dropping out of position! Every time, that is the most frustrating aspect of swapping out the SC430 battery.
Yes, a deep socket is useful for the job.

One thing that I observed when I recently purchased my 2005 -- when the previous owner replaced the battery -- the memory seats no longer worked. There's a very interesting series of steps you need to take to reinitiate the memory seats. You can find it on YouTube.
