Default Battery hold down rod...Anybody know how to

secure this from the bottom. I changed my battery out this morning and everything works great, except I can't figure out how to resecure this. It has a threaded bolt at the top which engages a metal brace that goes over the top of the battery. For some reason I'm having trouble engaging the bottom part of the rod that attaches to the battery box. There's a little cutout on the bottom but it's not intuitive to me how the rod bottom engages correctly.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Paul

I think you'll find a hook on the bottom end of the rod which attaches to the bottom of the box. The rod's hook must be in its proper position before securing the top brace with the nut.

Thanks Jud. I think I've got it now. Between lack of light and not much room, I managed to make a 10 minute job take an hour. Mechanics have no fear for their jobs around me.
