Are you sure that is OEM? No offense, but that's not how Toyota/Lexus engineers, nor installs equipment. Looks like an aftermarket add on. Since the camera connection at the "box" is merely a composite RCA connector a svideo camera should not be necessary.

I'm with Bob on this one. Black electrical tape with randomly torn edges does not usually bespeak OEM.

Some manufacturers are some "official" options which are actually dealer-installed just prior to delivery to the customer. Perhaps that is what's going on?

If that camera was OEM I agree that it must of been done at a dealer. I cant imagine the factory doing this kind of rough install. Not profesional at all.

I guess that last three posters didn't read the information at the web page link I provided so I will provide it again: http://www.jj-intl.com/en/company/?aid=3

The backup camera system in the OP's car appears to be from Ji International Partnership Company in Taiwan. Maybe it was installed by a previous owner since the installation looks so sloppy.

Hi guys, thank you all for your input, and thank you Kansas for the link.

I agree with you all that it doesn't look like OEM at all. Maybe it was done by the dealer as mrblister has posted.

The only reason I thought it might be OEM is that when I was looking at buying my SC430, all models from 2006 and up had rear camera. I had a look at 5 sc430 2006 models and all had the same rear camera. Maybe just coincidence.

Definitely not oem.
Lexus didn't make any backup camera system for the SC430.
If they did, the JDM SC430 would have had it first hand.
