I have used this forum for ideas and help, now I thought I would share my sc story. Call it destiny or blind luck, put before October of last year I didn't know what a SC was. In the past I would never look at a Lexus, to me it was too high end of a car. I was driving a solar a ragtop, really nice car. One Sunday I ws coming home from my mom's, it was a nice day, took a detour home, about a mile from my house, I went past this little dealership, it only had around 8 cars on the lot, when I saw this little black car on the end. Had no idea what it was but decided to turn around and take a look. Turned out to be a Lexus sc430. Like I said I was not aware of this car, but it got my attention. Decided when I got home to look for it on line, just to see how much a car like that cost. I found the dealer, apparently he sold cars on consignment. The car was a 2006 sc with 7200 miles, this got my attention. It was listed at 33,400. That seemed affordable so I went to auto trader, to compare pricing, couldn't believe how low he had the price listed. The car only had it's regular oil change and no other problems. Decided I would go Monday night to look at it. I wanted to go home first to get the dog taking care off, but because of traffic, heading home, decided to go look at it now. After kicking the tires so to speak, we talked money, he told me he dropped the price this morning to 32,900. I'm thinking how, he's crazy. Another guy came in to look at it now also. It was funny this guy was about six feet six, and I'm about five one, I looked like danny de Ito to his Arnold from the movie twins, standing next to this car lol. His wife was with the other guy, when the guy asked what I thought, I told him to tell the other guy to get away from my car. Lol. He told the man the car was now sold, he offered cash on the spot, but the salesman said sorry your to late. If I hadn't taken a detour that Sunday or went straight from work to look at this car, I still wouldn't know what a sc430 was. So was it destiny or blind luck, I now love this car and think I fit like a glove in it lol. I feel guilty at times that I didn't deserve this car, because how I just lucked into it and didn't appreciate it but I'm working on it. Will try to upload a picture as soon as I figure out how.

Are those caliper caps or are they actually painted red?

 

Congrats and nice pick up! Make sure you look at the stickies up top so you can start to learn more about the car. Once I joined the forum, I started to get the "mod" bug. These guys are so helpful.
Btw.. What size rims are those? They look a little smaller than stock 18" rims to me.

Unique story for sure. I like your wheels as well (I have the same ones on my black car). They are Helo's 836. Now all you need is a luxlink! Enjoy your new ride.

 

The wheels are 18 inch staggered setup, I did have the calipers painted, think they turned out pretty well. Would have liked to have dropped 20s on it and lowered it but wasn't in the budget. I do have a couple of mods planned for summer, but nothing big. I have the metal foot pedals to put in and I want to paint the front grill black, except for the lexus logo, I'll keep that silver.
