Should the trunk pop open when you push the remote button?
Mine only opens about 1/4".
You can lift it and there is some resistance but it does stay open.
Struts taking a dive?

 

Just bought mine in Nov. Thought the same thing. Dealer installed 2 new ones under warranty, still the same issue.

Yep, no mis-type.
I would have thought it would pop 2-3" and gas assist up.
So you're to use the spoiler as an assist to open?
This seems like excess stress on this part.

 

Personally I don't use the spoiler to lift the trunk lid. I just slip my under the lid at the mid point and lift with just a little force. While the lid does NOT continue up without the upward force to the fully open position, the struts do a good job of bring the weight of the lid close to neutral.
