Default Headlights

Hi everyone. I've had my SC430 for almost a year now and still love it. However, the other day I noticed my headlights are no longer swiveling in the direction that I turn. Anyone else run into this? Is there an easy fix or do I need to go to the Lexus dealer, which is 200 miles away. I can live without it, just thought I'd asked the experts! Thanks

I don't know the answer to your question, but if it were me, and they are aimed correctly, I wouldn't do anything. The feature in my opinion is the next thing to worthless. I live in the country with a lot of winding roads and I see no benefit to them moving.

I think the benifit is to see the look on the deers face that may be on the side of the road or a skunk or two. Then there is the service potental of charging 100.00 hour to fix the dern tthings , I have those moving lights on my wifes car and they drive me nutz when I drive it .

Silly thing to ask perhaps but is the switch turned on?

What switch are you referring to? One would assume the switch that turns on the head lights is in fact on.

No separate switch for the auto aiming as I know (edit) for 2002. :-)

There is a switch that controls the headlight swiveling function. I think it is labelled ASC or something like that. On my SC it is down near the bonnet release IIRC.

The AFS switch is separate. It's next to the outside mirrors position adjustment switch on 06 and later years equipped with the system.

So it turns out I didn't know there was a switch to turn this on and off! I must have hit it by accident. Thanks for the info, the Club Lexus Guru's come through again!

Isn't there a light that comes on in the dash that tells you it is off?

Yes, I believe it's within the tachometer gauge and only is lit up when it is off, otherwise it's on full time while driving at night.
