Default LSD and BBK Question...

Hey Guys..

I recently purchased a Supra 3.76 LSD Rear end from a fellow member but have not installed it on my SC yet. I have a question for those running the LSD.

When you install the unit, does the VSC Light illuminate?

A friend installed a torsen LSD on his Tundra and got the LSD light on. Apparently it turns out all Tundras with an LSD get the VSC deactivated; is it the same case with the SC because i dont wanna have to deal with lights illuminating on the dash on my new SC

Another question for the brake masters and a possible idea many will like

While looking for a BBK for my Supra, i came across this and it seems well priced and a welcome addition on the SC

Would those bolt on the SC directly since they are for the Supra

Salam I have both, With the LSD no lights but your top speed will be limited to about 140 which sucks for me with a 5 speed lol so hopefully your 6 speed should get you to 148 and the BBK will bolt up you will just need to trim the brake dust shield as with all BBKs and just confirm the SS brake line length. When you install the brakes dont forget to properly bed them in or it will be costly. Mabrook on finding a 3.76 LSD but doesnt the 06+ sc's come with the 3.76 gears? The LSD really helps when youre powering around the turns you can feel the inner tire grip and move. Just keep the VSC off and be careful in the wet weather. Hope all goes smoothly for you.

Haha.. Shokran

Well ME-Spec 06+ SCs came with a 3.615 Open Diff.. Only USDM SCs had he 3.761.. I know i'll only be getting a small bump in power but the LSD is also a welcome addition to the rear end. This with a PPE headers and an Injen Intake will boost performance a little (all acquired, non installed yet)

Thanks alot for the post, very helpful.. How do i confirm brake line length? Are the SC Brake lines different than the Supra's? Do you have an exact number to compare against?

Lastly, how do you know arabic or are you a native?

You've got intake and header. Any plan for exhaust? I think these combo will be more noticeable than going from 3.61 to 3.76

No Sir, no plans for an exhaust as of now. I am sure it would release alot of pressure but i want to keep it as stock looking and as quiet as possible.

I am actually worried that i wont get much from the headers and intake alone since i had a similar setup on a LandCruiser back in 2005 (with the 2UZ-FE) and i hardly felt any boost in performance.

I understand how restrictive these cars are and hope that a good quality set of breathers will help. The SC430 was never built to perform and I accept that. I would just like to slightly enhance breathing.

Instead of investing in an exhaust, i would like to get a set of coilovers (BCRacing), Toms 6-link, and rear chassis brace. Handling is the department the SC needs work on since it feels like a capable platform as is
