Default Help on LSD question

I have a '94 SC300 with a '95 2JZGTE 6 sp getrag, custom 2 piece driveshaft. I can't figure out what LSD I am able to put on because of the 6 sp tran. Would it be for a SC300 or a Supra? It seems all the LSD s I find for the SC are for the auto.

you need 6sp 3.12 lsd and you must also buy the axles for one is shorter then the other

you can also use the shorter gearing 3.76 lsd auto from supra tt as well and you dont have to change axles

sc never came with lsd here in states soarer had lsd in a 4.08 m/t only but imo gears on 4.08 are just too short for any real boost

The getrag prefers gearing in the range of 2.9-3.3.

The stock gearing on the 6MT TT was 3.12, and those gears and LSD comprised a larger differential to better handle the power. As mentioned, the dimension of the larger diffferential requires a different axle shaft to be acquired and installed on the drivers side (I believe it is the drivers side).

Another option is to get a differential from the 98+ GS400/GS430 or the 98+ SC400. These vehicles had the same rear end for their 5AT transmission with a 3.26 ratio. The differential here is identically sized to the stock SC differential. Although there was no LSD installed from the factory on these units, you can swap in the Torsen from the Supra TT Auto or any aftermarket LSD for the Supra TT Auto (TRD, ATS, Kaax, etc).

The stock gearing from nearly every other model of vehicle that will bolt to the rear end of the SC will be way too aggressive for the Getrag. You will need to source either a 6MT rear end with the axle shafts from a TT Supra or a 5AT rear end from the SC/GS.
