well the minimum wage is higher in SF, therefore the living standard is higher. A good tint job in sf can cost you around 250 whereas in socal, is about 180 for really good one.

35% tint on the SC and no Nav problems here as well, just like you're hearing. It's interesting though because I recently just had the BMW tinted and received the same disclaimer regarding Sirius radio. I got the tint anyway and haven't had any problem there at all either. Maybe that's just a standard disclaimer....

Default 2006 sc430

I paid 135.00 four all five windows, make your side windows deeper so they are under the scraper seal on both driver & passengers side door windows

Default tinting on SC430?

im thinking of tinting my silver sc430 w/black interior..

I usually go to this shop in staten island(had my last 2 cars done there) that does a great job and they use johnson films(ive read mixed reviews about this) exclusively..
automotive toy store http://www.automotivetoystore.com
http://www.johnsonwindowfilms.com/AUTO.php

On my last car I had the johnson executive series put on, 21% on back/sides and 35% on the front windshield. Its a fully metallic film. It looked great but caused problems with my EZ-PASS & GPS(alpine system w/dash mounted antenna)

What do you all think the best film to use is? I sort of like the metallic look..

How dark should I go? Should I do the windshield too? Will it look stupid with the top down and windows up?

Anyone have any issues with the film? Im concerned about problems with the stock gps and ez-pass. as far as radar detector, ill be putting in a k40 blueteeoth calibre system(detectors mounted on front & rear bumpers) so that wont be an issue.

anyone have any recommended installers in the NY area? Im stayin in long island for the summer & usually in staten island on the weekends. I might go back to the shop I usually goto, unless theres better installers w/better film...I want the best for my car..

My SC430 came tinted, it's been a problem (peeling, tint getting stuck under window seal, etc), yet another case where the car does not need to be modified. I'd recommend against it.

the idea is to tint it lower than the door panel. someone took off teh door panel before tinting, that gets couple more inches. s owhen you put back the door panels the tint won't get peeled off.

mine peeled off once. this car is made sooo tight.... that's all i can sy

I just got my windows done 5%. I had to take it back because the driver and passenger windows started peeling after one week of having it. (Not the tint shops fault). Something about the seals are too tight and were jamming the tint . Its all good now.
