Navigation Door Lid Will Not Open or Close (Help Needed!)
Our car was rear-ended (thankfully, we had a great shop to the repairs and the car drives/looks like it did pre-accident). However, the navigation door magically stopped working now that we have the car back. The navigation screen still works fine, but the open/cose buttons will not make the door/lid open.
On other threads I have searched here, people have suggested this could be from the door being off-track (not the case here), a broken motor (could be the case), and/or a blown fuse (also could be the case).
Can someone tell me what fuse I would need to check if it is in fact a fuse? I've looked at the fuse boxes in the engine bay (by the battery) and in the trunk, but all fuses look fine. Is there anywhere else I should look for a fuse before wasting a day at the dealer to diagnose/fix the problem?
There's a fuse box inside the car on the passenger side, which is under the dash and to the right.
Thank you, I was unaware of that one (despite skimming the owner's manual).
EDIT: I checked most of the fuses in the passenger and driver side interior fuse boxes (except for things like seat heaters, etc) and all appeared to be functional. Bummer, I guess it's off to the dealer for me. It really sucks how someone else can cause so much inconvenience by being careless and rear ending someone else (us). Oh well, could always be worse.
If you go to the dealer they will replace the unit. $1,200.00 It is more than likely your mortor $12.00.
nkx1,
The motor is easy to test... Once you get the unit out (that's the tuff part)...
If it's not the motor, I would suspect the door/screen control circuit located on the unit (in the little black box on top)... Wich I have a spare one.
Can someone please help me my navi hase no power the door wont open , it wont turn on , no display nothing. One day it was fine the next dead. I checked the fuses they were the wrong fuses for that location . The tv fuse on the pass kick panel was way to big it was like a 7.5 and it should have only been a 5. Im guessing it might have blown the nav unit.???? Tried reseting the battery nothing happened. What the f! Dealer didnt know anything told me it wasnt getting power no dah you *******s. Suggested i start with a new nav unit but i dont want to waste a grand on one and find out the one i have is still good.
Alex, I also think you're looking for help with a Lexus IS300. This is the SC430 forum. Each car might have different troubleshooting techniques. Something to keep in mind. Maybe post in the IS300 forum. They may have more tips.

Being part of this forum is such an amazing part of ownership especially when you have some really kind and generous people who really try to help and give as much support as possible when we run in to situation that our outside of our knowledge or expertise. I had a similar issue with the GPS door not closing and have posted with so much help and support that i was able to learn and get it resolved. The issue with my door was the little circuit abord that connects to the GPS unit housing which tilts, opens, and closes the door. There were a resistor that went bad and had to be resoldered. Here is the link to the thread, i hope the pics are still there but most of the information is written out to give you another option to check things out and see if it could be something similar.
