Where does this emblem go ?
Front or back ? Sorry if this is a newbie question but what does this symbol stand for?
If it replaces the back "L" is it a direct fit meaning I am pretty sure the "L" is not just double sided tape it has I believe 2 screw like rods along with double sided tape to secure the "L". I'm 99% sure on this.. Thanks..

That's the front. I'm not sure if you know this, but the SC430 was originally sold as the Toyota Soarer in Japan. The front emblem is what you're looking at. It's called a griffin. The back logo was a regular Toyota logo.
ok thanks.. yes i know in japan its was called the Soarer but didnt know that this symbol represents the meaning.. thanks for the info.

I think, some in the front don't come off. The ones that do have one screw. The back I believe is two pins, not screws, I know that's what it was on the 02 ES. That's why people will take off the side emblems but not the middle ones, because there is body work and paint involved.
06+ front emblems don't come off. But that's also the same year Toyota switched from calling it the Toyota Soarer to Lexus SC430 in Japan. So there are no permanently attached griffin badges.

I believe your right because if you look closely on the actual rear trunk itself there is a circular indentation on the trunk itself made for the "L" emblem so the griffin emblem cant be back there because it will not fit the circular indentation
