Weird, many of the Toyota Soarer drivers in Australia want to re-badge their cars as Lexus, while the US drivers want to do the reverse.....!

The main issues are the size of the badge and any holes that remain - the Lexus 'L' pins and the Toyota 'T' pins are probably not in the same place - if so you may end up with holes in the car that will need to be welded and painted.

Do you intend removing the badge/word 'Lexus' and replacing the SC400 with 'Soarer' too?

If you like, I can scan my Toyota Soarer 'T' so you can print it out and see if a Soarer badge will fit, but this will not address the location of the pins. Have a look on soarercentral.com - there are many posts about similar (if reverse!) exercises...

The "T" emblems I believe will always have different hole layouts than the "L" emblems, due to shape. What you can do is remove the "L", have the holes filled, and grind down the pins on the "T" emblem flat, and use the double-sided adhesive on the emblem to stick it on there.

Here's my 2 cents dude,

I prefer a smaller "T" emblem....so I used a Solara front emblem. I also had my rear trunk lid emblem holes filled in

The emblem slapped on quite nicely....

But as far as "T" emblems directly fitting, I don't think there is one out there that will swap over cleanly.

A pic for reference...

I wonder why you want to do this.

To each his own, but I personally never understood buying a car from a manufacturer's "luxury line" and then rebadging it as lower echelon vehicle. But that's just me.

As I said, to each his own. No offense to anyone who does this, it's just not for me. But I am curious as to your reasoning for wanting to do this.

i'd do it because at its heart, the car is a rebadged toyota. "lexus" is just a name for a toyota. not much is added to the luxuryness from toyota when it's brought over, just the bading. it's no more luxury then an acura/infiniti really.

the soarer's are pretty nice car from the factory, plus it sounds better then "sc300".

that said, i won't be doing that mod because of the sheer amount of work (body filling ,etc) that needs to be done for it. i started that on my GS and i learned my lesson.

I dont think any luxury brand has won more awards or has gotten more recognition in the last 10 years than lexus. Acura and infiniti make nice cars, but dont compare to Lexus. Our beloved SC body, that is perhaps the most beautiful car ever made, was designed in california.

i guess to me it's a toyota soarer through and through. i know that it was designed in CA, but at its heart, its a toyota. nothing wrong with that at all, and lexus is leaps and bounds better then acura/infiniti when it comes to quality (acura is second IMHO)

hell i bought the car because its a toyota, i don't have to worry about subframe cracks, eletrical issues, quality control issues, cheap materials and shoddy engines (im looking in your direction BMW and Mercedes) and my 98 SC is better then the my cousin's g35 in terms of looks and feel (though not as fast).

Calling it a toyota is no slam at all. i love it because it is one, hence why i would toyota badge it. i just wouldn't go through all the trouble again.

I agree. The "T" emblem from the Solaras will work great. I was also planning on putting on Toyota emblems on the SC but then decided to just keep it as a "Lexus" "L" "Soarer". My friend had debadged his Solara and let me test fit it to see how it would look. Not that bad actually. Of course if you do decide to use a Toyota emblem you will have to cut off the little ***** and use an adhesive to keep it on there.
