How are they wearing ? Where in N.J. did you go so they would do specs out of original manufacturers?

the place is rodriquez tire on new brunswick ave in perth amboy. tire prices are real good and the guy that dose alignments knows his ****, tell what you want or what you want it set at and he will try to accommadate you. tell them at the desk, gene from bacardi oil sent you.

yes tire ware. i'm going to change the alignment, now that my new adapters will be here today. now i will be having my new rims put on.
i will be having the alignment redone to:
front left front right
-0.2 camber -0.2 camber
no adjustment caster
.03 toe .03 toe

rear left rear right
-0.7 camber -0.7 camber
.08 toe .08 toe

i think this is going to work fine. from what i was told, the rear should be 50% more than the front. these are the numbers i would like to end up with.
the adapters are 19mm and the new rims 38 offset will give me 19mm on all 4's.

Thank you ! Picking up my first SC next week and want to ditch the run flat F##KERS immediately. Still looking for a post on the swing arm modification to give more adjustment of the camber.Any help ?

 

never heard of anything like that, maybe one of the other guy do. ha bob maybe you do.

 

I don't know that you actually need to modify the swing arm to allow sufficient adjustment range to achieve even wear. On my SC02, the run flats used to have horribly uneven wear, but after switching to Pilot All Season radials and having the alignment redone, I don't see any uneveness after years of use. It should be doable on yours if it is on mine. Then again, my summer setup uses the OEM wheels.

The runflats ---- dangerous in my opinion on the SC430 due to their extreme tendency to tram rail suddenly and continually. They made simply going in a straight line a challenge. The car would unexpectedly jerk you off line. With the Pilot all season radials, the SC430 actually keeps moving in the direction you point the steering wheel.

I'm considering the Continental Exremes all season, even though I don't intend to drive in snow or ice,the north east weather has been tough lately.
As far as you're 2002 SC, have you come up against any specific issues I should watch out for?
The timing belt,water pump and seals were done thru a dealer by the last owner at 87,000 .Car now has 103,00 but is extremely well cared for and maintained.Has standard wheels.Is your alignment set to as little camber as possible? I have been looking at this and that appears to be the cause of the extreme inner tire wear on these cars.
